The matches don’t have enough variety for me to keep it interesting, it feels like the same game every time. It’s esports make-believe bullshit. I get why they did it and it did help the health of the meta to make that change, but I wish they’d tried other things than just cutting it in half. It took me a while to get used to that change but once I did, it was fine, no complaints. Also it felt like my favorite character was falling behind zen. I still go back for events and some free for all because that is the best mode the game has.

Heavy is a powerful class. No one can refute this. It’s just that he doesn’t excel in dm, he’s great at supporting his team. The class has the highest health pool and dps in the entire game yet you still get mouthbreathers like this guy spouting how useless he is. Its just that he was designed to hold down a point. He is so good at his job that comp formats banned unlocks that allowed him to circumvent his weakness which lies in his speed, because if you take away his weakness, the game grinds to halt just because of how powerful Heavy.
His speed makes him unable to roam by himself, unable to push as offensively as the generalists, and unable to secure picks. Outside of that, if he stays with the bulk of his team like he should, you would need to invest so much just to kill one person. Heavy was never and will never be weak.

I am by no means saying that new players aren’t welcome in the comp community. I am aware that you told people to look at the tutorials, but they aren’t since they can just click any lobby much faster than reading class guides or instructions. Which this may just seem like me going “I don’t want to play with pubby scrubs who won’t get kills”, I can assure you I am worried about both parties here.
These new low lobby players are doing extremely bad, because they don’t know how to play comp. They are getting called out for it, insulted, and even sometimes reported for it. This is probably putting a negative image in their minds about competitive, and further pushing them away from it.

The only people that complain about this are the ones that hop into “new player only” servers in other games and shit stomp everyone while jacking off to how good they are.
I feel like it defeats the purpose of having a game where the kits are supposed to reflect the character if you’re just going to take the neat-freak and engineer and turn them into more reactive, aim-to-kill style characters. I know balancing turret style characters is hard but I feel like all they’re doing is building and reworking characters to be good in the existing meta, rather than having extremely niche kits that are only good in certain circumstances.
If you keep getting better and keep winning, you’ll be matched with higher level players since the game knows you deserve to play with those higher level players.
